What you see – Across the busy Sion circle in Mumbai, we spot the rather modestly sized fast food restaurant Ovenpick. It has a huge banner alongside that says Chocolate fudge is available Rs. 20 onwards. The attractive décor of the shop inside instantly catches our eye and we enter to soak in an experience of some heavenly mouth-smacking chocolates, pastries, fudge and fast food.

What you get – You get all kinds of ‘oven-baked’ delicacies at Ovenpick. There are eggless cakes, soft breads, butter cream cakes, fresh cake cookies, pastries and assorted chocolates. You also get stuff like small burgers for as cheap as Rs. 20. Small varieties and sizes of pizzas are available for Rs. 22 onwards. We love the Paneer Roll (Rs. 25) and the Vegetable Stuff Roll (Rs. 20).

We notice that although the store is small, the varieties available are many. You can enjoy a whole vegetarian eating experience too. The staff here comprises just about four boys, who manage the shop very well. They inform us that the cakes baked here are all carefully done to ensure that the quality doesn’t go wrong. Everything in Ovenpick is vegetarian. Pastries like chocolate cream, butterscotch, vanilla and strawberry are available for Rs. 30 onwards. You also get delicious chocolate fudge for Rs. 15 onwards and Rum ball cakes for Rs. 20 (an absolute delight!).

Our verdict – MetroMela likes the ambience at Ovenpick, which is simple, yet elegant, and the goodies are heavenly. You can drop by if you want to have a small bite and treat your growling stomach without pinching your pocket. They also take orders for birthday and wedding cakes. Prior booking is necessary. Parking space is not available. Happy chocolate fudge eating!
