Mumbai - 400018
What you see - Located on the 34th floor and covering the entire rooftop of Four Seasons Hotel Mumbai, Aer Lounge offers a panoramic view of the city and the sea under an endless ceiling of the sky. Organic industrial designer, Ross Lovegrove’s Love Bench makes a statement at the entrance. The contemporary and minimalist black and white decor conceptualized by renowned designers Bob Bilkey, Oscar Llynas, Nozer Wadia, Ritu Nanda, Elsie Nanji and Annalisa Beliettati creates a luminous appeal.
The open air lounge is divided into smoking and non smoking sections with seamless jigsaw shapes in white blending with other outdoor furniture to form the seating area. A state-of-the-art sound system and a live DJ playing jazz, funk, world and club music every night add to the high-energy feel.
What you get - The food menu at Aer features an innovative selection of hot and cold Lebanese and Middle Eastern dips, Mediterranean tapas, midnight mezzes and other international favorites. It is limited to snacks only. The eclectic bar menu serves international and domestic wines, champagne, beer, cocktails, martinis and more.
We started with Bellini, a signature champagne cocktail made by infusing mango puree with Moet and Chandon champagne. The sweetness of mango balanced the sour taste of the champagne. Horizon, a signature cocktail made with vodka, coconut water and curry leaves was also enjoyable.
In snacks we tried Bruschetta, a home bread served with different toppings and Crispy squid which had seasoned squid rings fried to perfection. This was served with tartar dip and side vegetables and was delicious and filling.
Our verdict - Aer qualifies as Mumbai’s highest rooftop bar and is complemented by an avant-garde design that is both contemporary and minimalist. The sense of space makes it suitable for even large groups. Plus, it’s a good place to relax. Professionally trained bartenders craft exclusive and even personalised blends of fresh fruit and champagne on request. The lounge bar is cooled by refreshing breezes and the service is firmly focused on creating the warmest of welcomes. A cover charge of Rs 1,500 per person applies from 8 PM onwards which is redeemable on the bill. The dress code allows smart casuals and ethnic attire but discourages shorts, sleeveless T-shirts, slippers and open shoes on men. Valet parking is provided. During happy hours (5.30 PM to 8 PM) each evening, cocktails and champagne are reduced to around half the price.
